Dr. Jerry Wallace
Dr. Jerry Wallace was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan. He started off his early years by being a star student athlete ranging from high school to college. Jerry attended Grand Valley State University (GVSU), where he was a two -sport athlete from 2002-2006. Most notably playing four years for the GVSU men’s basketball team and running one season on the GVSU track and field team (2003-2004) Dr. Wallace also holds a GLIAC championship in each sport!

Currently, Dr. Jerry Wallace is the President of Danville Community College in Virginia. He is 40 years old and among the youngest college presidents in the country and also one of the youngest presidents in the history of the Virginia Community College System. Before heading to Virginia, Dr. Wallace held the seat of Campus President and Vice President for skilled and technical sciences and business of Nebraska Central Community College, Hastings Campus.
In 2023, Dr. Wallace was announced as one of Virginia’s Top 100 People to Meet! Earlier this year, Dr. Wallace and Danville Community College celebrated winning the 2023 Pinnacle award from the Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Wallace also appeared in a Viewpoint documentary series as a “leaders in the future of community college education”. This documentary series is hosted by Dennis Quaid and aired on Public Television, CNN, and the Discovery Channel. To close out 2024, Dr. Wallace will receive a national award from the Rural Community College Alliance later this fall.
